Robert Frank 




Robert Frank was born 9.11.1924 in Zurich Switzerland he was an important American photographer, the most known work from Frank was his photographs from his book The Americans the book included 83 photographs that he captured between 1955 and 1956 travelling around in America.
He became a grant from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation in 1955 to travel across the United States and to capture the images, his family went with him to be part of the road trip series,he captured 28,000 photographs in these two years,his book was first published on May 15, 1958 by Robert Delpire in Paris.And then the book was published in 1959 by Grove Press in New York.The French edition are writings in French about American political and social history by Alain Bosquet.The English edition of The Americans published in 1959 by Grove Press in New York.Presented the same photographs, as the French edition but the text is by Jack Kerouac and not by Alain Bosquet.The book by Robert Frank has been reprinted often by different publishers.
 Frank had stoped photographing and started to make films in 1959 such as Pull My Daisy ,Gregory Corso and Villiage Voice.
